Feta cheese

Feta cheese is undoubtedly one of the most renowned Greek Cheese; notably for its crucial role in the Greek salad.

This white cheese is protected since 2002 by an AOP, and to be allowed to sell cheese under the name of "Feta", the product has to be produced in one the six following region: Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, Central Mainland Greece, the Peloponnese and Lesvos. Traditional feta is made of 30% of goat milk mixed with sheep milk, grazing the pastures of one of the six AOP regions.

What about the flavour and texture? Feta cheese has a nutty and strong aroma, with a tangy and tasty flavour, notably due to the brine solution. According to its age, it can be creamy or have a crumbly dry texture.

What's healthier and more refreshing than a homemade Greek Salad with AOP Feta Cheese? It is really simple; you just need tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, black olives and extra virgin olive oil! It can also be enjoyed in a pizza or a pie.
