Organic Roast Chicken

Try this delicious recipe with natural ingredients and impress your loved ones.

Ingredients

For 4 persons - Preparation time : 95 minutes

 

  • 1 whole organic free-range chicken (4-5 lbs)
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp of dried thyme
  • 1 medium onion
  • Sea salt
  • 1 cup of water

Method


STEP 1

Rinse the chicken with cold water.

 

STEP 2

Coat the entire skin of the organic chicken found in Singapore with vegetable oil.

 

STEP 3

Sprinkle all sides of the organic chicken with thyme and sea salt. Insert the whole onion in the middle of the chicken.


STEP 4

Place the chicken in a roasting pan or in an ovenproof saucepan, without covering it. Add the cup of water to the bottom of the roasting pan (so that the oven remains humid during the cooking and the chicken remains tender and juicy).


STEP 5

Put in the oven at 350°F for 1h30, or until the chicken reaches 185°F if you own a meat thermometer.


STEP 6

When the chicken is ready, take it off the roasting pan, cover it and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.


STEP 7

While it rests, prepare the sauce with the juice and the grease of the chicken at the bottom of the saucepan : put the roasting pan on the stove, boil the liquid and add a thickening agent (cornstarch for example) that you will have diluted in a little bit of cold water or white wine. Mix with the chicken juice. Boil until you have the ideal texture, and add salt and pepper according to your tastes.


STEP 8

Cut the chicken, add the sauce and serve. Enjoy !
